YouTube subtitles
Subtitles for YouTube videos and Shorts
A 40-minute video or a 30-second Short: get timed subtitles as an SRT file for YouTube Studio, or styled captions burned into the video. Hindi, Hinglish, English and five more Indian languages, with no cap on how long your video is.
- No length cap
- SRT and VTT
- ₹0 to start

An SRT for YouTube Studio
Upload it as a subtitle file and viewers can turn your subtitles on or off, in the language you made them in.
Burned in for Shorts
Shorts are watched on mute like Reels. Burn styled, word-by-word captions into the video and preview it with the Shorts buttons drawn over it.
No cap on length
Your video is captioned on your own device, so a full episode works like a Short. Your plan counts only the minutes you caption.
Long videos
Subtitles that stay out of the way
For a talking-head video, an interview or a tutorial, calm subtitles at the bottom of the frame beat flashy ones. Lower Third, Subtitle, Professional and Broadcast are made for exactly that.
- English subtitles for a Hindi video: pick Captions in: English
- A word-by-word SRT on paid plans, for animating captions in Premiere, CapCut or Resolve
- The whole transcript as text, for your description and chapters

Questions
Should I upload an SRT or burn the captions in?
For long videos, upload the SRT: viewers can turn subtitles on or off, and the text sits outside the picture. For Shorts, burn them in: most people watch Shorts on mute, and styled captions keep them watching. You can do both from the same project.
Can I make English subtitles for a Hindi video?
Yes. Choose “Captions in: English” before you start; each sentence is translated and timed while it is said. Check names and numbers before you publish.
Is there a limit on video length?
No. Your video is processed on your own device, so a 40-minute video works like a Short. What a plan counts is minutes of transcription: a 10-minute video uses 10 minutes.
Can I edit the subtitles before I download them?
Yes. Click any word to retype it, drag captions on the timeline to retime them, split one at the playhead, and hide stretches you don’t want captioned.
What is a word-by-word SRT?
An SRT with one word per cue, on paid plans. Editors use it in Premiere, CapCut or Resolve to animate captions one word at a time.
Is it free?
Free is five minutes of transcription a month, at 720p, with thirteen styles and no watermark. Paid plans start at ₹99 a month for an hour of transcription, with every style and 1080p.
